CENTEREACH, NY — Arby's has come to Centereach. The fast-food sandwich chain held its soft opening Thursday and its grand opening this weekend. The shop can be found at 1759 Middle Country Road.

Arby's serves an array of sandwiches, like beef, pork, chicken and turkey, as well as sliders. Sides include curly fries (plain or loaded), mozzarella sticks, jalapeno bites and potato cakes.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are shakes such as S'Mores, Ultimate Chocolate, Jamocha and vanilla. Triple chocolate cookies, salted caramel and chocolate cookies, apple or cherry turnovers and cinnamuffins round out the desserts.

However, the opening didn't go exactly as planned. On Friday, the Brookhaven fire marshal said Arby's didn't have its Certificate of Occupancy finalized before opening, according to News 12 Long Island. Arby's was issued a cease-and-desist until the location received approval, which happened later Friday. Only the drive-through opened on Friday night; the more traditional "grand opening" took place Saturday.
