Centereach Soccer Field Vandalized Several Times In 6 Months

More than $38,000 in damage has been done to the field, police say.

CENTEREACH, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the person or people who police said vandalized a Centereach soccer field multiple times over the past six months.

A person or group knocked over multiple light poles at the Our Savior New American School soccer facility, located on Hawkins Road, during the overnight hours between Dec. 16 and 17, 2020, police said.

On May 3 and May 9, police were called for damage to light fixtures, signage and the sprinkler system. The combined damage to the facility is worth more than $38,000. The person or people responsible are wanted for criminal mischief.
