For the month of January, Emma Clark Library has arts & culture classes that you’re sure to enjoy!
All of these classes are online and start at 7:00 p.m.:
Tuesday, January 5 – History of Miniatures - taught by miniaturist Darren T. Scala, who recently showed his art & skill on HGTV's Biggest Little Christmas Showdown! In this online class, learn about the history of miniatures from ancient to modern times.

Thursday, January 7 – Relax & Paint: Winter’s Storm - Follow along step-by-step with Melissa of Paint Party LI to create a fun and colorful snowy winter painting.
Friday, January 15 – Art of Ikebana, Japanese Floral Arrangements - Join Hiroko & Gerard Senese -from the Japan Center at Stony Brook University- for a demonstration of the different styles of Japanese flower arrangements. It is more than simply putting flowers in a container. It is a disciplined art form in which the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are brought together. It is steeped in the philosophy of developing closeness with nature.

Tuesday, January 19 – Trailblazing Women Photographers - Join Professor Mary Vahey as we look at the trailblazers in photojournalism and street photography and the living photographers who address fame, race, gender and the feminine mystique.
