Ronkonkoma, NY, May 21, 2014- The Long Island operation team of Enterprise Holdings, the corporate parent of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, and the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the corporation’s philanthropic arm, raised more than $7,000 during Stony Brook University’s Relay For Life event on April 26-27, 2014.
“It’s through the dedication of our employees and community that we were able to raise funds for the American Cancer Society," said Kathleen Wagner, human resources manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Long Island. “We strive to make a positive difference in our community and the Relay for Life event was a great opportunity to do so.”
During the event, Enterprise Holdings provided fundraising opportunities through sales of candy bars and raffle tickets, plus inflatable jousting matches. Participants of the raffle were entered to win a 51” Samsung flat screen TV. Leading up to the event, the team also solicited body shops and other corporate accounts to raise donations. Due to their successful fundraising efforts, Enterprise Holdings was recognized as a Gold Team by Stony Brook.

Stony Brook University’s Relay for Life event raised more than $38,000 for the American Cancer Society. During the event, Long Islanders walked together to raise money and awareness, while honoring both survivors and lives lost to cancer. The American Cancer society hosts this event each year, gathering more than four million people in 20 countries across the globe.
