Harlem Globetrotters To Open Newly Renovated Stony Brook Arena

The world-renowned Harlem Globetrotters will open the newly renovated Stony Brook Arena on October 4 with two games at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The games will be the first in the arena since March 2012 when the facility closed down to begin renovations.

“We are excited to open Stony Brook Arena with one of the world’s great teams that has been entertaining fans for decades,” said Shawn Heilbron, Director of Athletics. “The family-friendly show that the Harlem Globetrotters provide represents the perfect lead-in for our new arena as we get to showcase Stony Brook’s men’s and women’s basketball teams and the best game day experience on Long Island beginning in November.”

Tickets will be available for purchase on Thursday, August 14 at 9:30 a.m. on the Stony Brook Athletics Department website, the Harlem Globetrotters website, or by calling (631) 632-7142. Ticket prices range from $20 to $125.
