With the Halloween season slowly coming to its end and the temperature soon to be dropping, now is the perfect time for you to embrace what Fall on Long Island has to offer you. Whether you love the outdoors, anything scary or appreciate a nice day in a pumpkin patch, the opportunities for fun fall activities are endless!

  1. BB & GG Farm in Head of the Harbor is the perfect place to start if you want to take the family for a charming Sunday pumpkin patch trip. With their 5-acre pumpkin patch, there is a $10 admission fee to experience their corn maze and scenic hayride. For when you don’t want to make the trip all the way out east to Harbes Orchard, this is the spot for you.
  2. Pindar Vineyard located in Peconic is one of the many kid-friendly vineyards located on Long Island. While you enjoy a nice glass of wine and the scenic views of the vineyard, your kids are welcomed to play in the fields and sometimes even picnic- if given the OK by the vineyard. For when you want an escape and need a girls day, this is your perfect outing to do so!
  3. Deep Wells Haunted Mansion in St. James is perfect for those (old enough) who enjoy getting spooked! While we wouldn't necessarily recommend bringing young kids to the haunted houses, there are plenty of 'safe' options for them to get their fix in too to feel apart of the fun. Check out your local High School's website to get more information on if they offer trick-or-treating inside the school!
  4. Benner's Farm in East Setauket is your one stop for an intimate and family owned farm experience. Your kids are able to hold their baby bunnies and see the farm's three pigs and a handful of sheep. A not-so-scary haunted hayride is included in your admission fee, $8 for adults and $6 for kids and senior citizens, that is now available noon-4pm through Nov. 3rd.
  5. Avalon Park is the perfect place to go on a walk or hike to fully experience the best of foliage during the season. Located conveniently in Stony Brook, this Park and Preserve is the ideal local spot to step-back and embrace the fresh air.
  6. With Discovery Wetlands Cruise, just because summer is over doesn't mean boat rides have to end. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s pontoon boat “Discovery” departs from the Stony Brook Yacht Club marina for an hour and a half tour. Led by a designated naturalist to describe the wildlife, you'll be taken across their 88-acre wetlands preserve aboard their 27-passenger vessel.

Don’t take it from me- go out and experience the best of Autumn on Long Island and share pictures from your trip on this post !
