Man Hit By Car In Front Of His House In Selden: Police

The man, who was in the road by the front of his home, was seriously injured, police say.

SELDEN, NY — A man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car near his Selden home on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.

John Paul Jones, 55, was in the roadway in front of his Dare Road home when he was struck by a northbound 2016 Hyundai sedan around 9:45 p.m., police said.

Jones is being treated at Stony Brook University Hospital.

The driver of the Hyundai, Christa Henselder, 79, of Selden, was not injured, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
