
CENTEREACH, NY — A bank in Centereach was robbed Tuesday afternoon, and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating.
A man entered People’s United Bank, at 1919 Middle Country Road, around 4 p.m. and demanded cash, police said. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer, and then the robber ran off northbound through the bank’s parking lot, police said. He was described as wearing dark clothing.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
