Man Steals Man's Sign, Punches Him At Political Rally: SCPD

A 64-year-old man had a sign before it was ripped out of his hands by someone else, police said.

SETAUKET, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who police said harassed a man at a political rally in Setauket this month.

A 64-year-old man was at a political rally at the intersection of North Country Road and Route 25A at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 12 when a man from an opposing group ripped a sign out of the victim’s hand, police said. The 64-year-old walked to his car, and the other man followed before punching him and pushing him to the ground, police said. The 64-year-old refused medical attention. The man is wanted for harassment, police said.

A cash reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
