Man Uses Credit Card He Swiped From Woman's Wallet: SCPD

The 78-year-old woman was shopping at Aldi when a man stole her wallet, which contained credit cards, police say.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who police said stole a woman's wallet and then used her credit card in a nearby town earlier in May.

A man stole a wallet that contained credit cards from a 78-year-old woman’s purse in a shopping cart at Aldi, at 139 Alexander Ave., Lake Grove, around 1:30 p.m. May 6, police said. Shortly after, the man used one of the stolen credit cards to make a purchase at Target, at 255 Pond Path, Centereach, police said. He is wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
