Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Selden Crash

A man was riding his motorcycle when he and a car collided, throwing him from his vehicle, police say.

SELDEN, NY — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car driver on Wednesday, Suffolk police said.

A 22-year-old Ronkonkoma man was riding a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Middle Country Road when a 65-year-old Selden man, who was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry, made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, police said. The two collided at around 5:15 p.m., and the motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle, police said.

The Ronkonkoma man was taken via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition. The Selden man was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with injuries considered non-life threatening.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
