New Details On Human Remains Found In Centereach In March: Police

Detectives believe the person was between 15 and 21 when he was killed and that his death happened roughly a year before his body was found.

CENTEREACH, NY — Suffolk police on Wednesday released new details on a male that was killed and left in Centereach. Skeletal remains were found behind a Jay Road home on March 15.

Detectives said they determined a male, roughly between 15 and 21 years old, was killed. He was described as white or Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches tall to 5 feet 5 inches tall and wearing size 4-and-a-half men’s sneakers. He is believed to have been dead for one year before his body was found, police said.

Detectives asked anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
