Police Investigate Attempted Break-In on Cabin Lane

A look at recent crime in the Three Village area.

  • An incident of road rage was reported to police on Oct. 1. According to police the incident began on Rt. 347 in Setauket at 7 a.m.. Police said the two men eventually ended up in the parking lot of CVS in Setauket where one man spit on the other man’s car.
  • An attempted break-in was reported at a home on Cabin Lane in Setauket. According to police a lock on a window to the house was damaged but the person or persons did not get into the home.
  • A resident reported that money was stolen from a car parked on Ashford Lane in Setauket on Oct. 6. According to police, the money was in a Volkswagen Beetle that was unlocked. The theft occurred between 4:30 p.m. on Sun. and 9 a.m. Mon. morning.
