Police Seek Public's Help in Setauket Hit and Run

Suffolk County police are asking for the public's help in locating a car involved in a fatal hit-and-run that happened this summer.

Joseph Santiago, 47, of 55 Ridgeway Ave., Setauket, was killed on Aug. 23 by a hit-and-run driver on Ridgeway Avenue in Setauket. According to police, the driver was headed west on Ridgeway at about 1 a.m.

Detectives have determined the car involved in the accident is a white 199-2006 Hyundai sedan, which they believe probably sustained lower front-end damage on the passenger side and/or damage to the undercarriage of the car.
