Missing Selden Man Found Unharmed: Police

Cathal Schlageter, 27, who had been last seen at Independence Plaza in Selden on Saturday afternoon, was found Tuesday, police say.

Updated 9:55 p.m. March 23: Cathal Schlageter has been found unharmed, Suffolk police announced Tuesday night.

Original story: SELDEN, NY — A Selden man has been missing since Saturday, Suffolk police said.

Cathal Schlageter, 27, of Ann Street, was last seen by a family member at Independence Plaza in Selden at 3 p.m. Saturday, police said. He was driving a red 1999 Toyota Corolla with the license plate GXB 7544, police said. He was reported missing at 11 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Schlageter is white, 5 feet, 8 inches, and 145 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes, according to police.

Police issued a Silver Alert, which is a public notification system for missing people.

Detectives asked anyone with information on Schlageter’s location to call 911 or the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
