Stony Brook Man Burglarized 10 Businesses Since November: Police
Most of the businesses the man broke into are eateries, police say. The thief was caught while breaking into a Subway, police say.
STONY BROOK, NY — A Stony Brook man who Suffolk police said burglarized 10 businesses since November 2020 was arrested on Tuesday.
Michael Parise, 45, was seen breaking the glass door of Subway, at 2350 Route 347, around 1:25 a.m., police said. Canine Section Officer Sean Clarke and his canine partner, Brock, chased Parise, who was taken into custody following a physical struggle, police said. Clarke and Brock were patrolling Stony Brook due to the recent string of overnight burglaries, police said.

Parise was charged with 10 counts of third-degree burglary and resisting arrest. Parise burglarized the following businesses, police said:

- Bambu, at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook, during the overnight hours of Feb. 14 to Feb. 15.
- LI Bagel Café, at 2310 Route 347, Stony Brook, at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 13.
- Bambu, at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook, during the overnight hours of Jan. 10 to Jan. 11.
- Red Tiger Dumpling House, at 1320 Stony Brook Road, Stony Brook, at 9 a.m. Jan. 21.
- Hoshi Sushi, at 1320 Stony Brook Road, Stony Brook, during the overnight hours of Jan. 21 to Jan. 22.
- Iron Ramen, at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook, between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Jan. 11.
- Smoke Paradise, at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook, at 5:50 a.m. Jan. 11.
- Lan Wo, at 2460 Route 347, Stony Brook, at 1 a.m. Jan. 10.
- Ssambap Korean BBQ, at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook, at 5 a.m. Nov. 17, 2020.
Parise will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
