Stony Brook Ranked In Top 40 Universities Nationally
Long Island's SUNY University ranked 39th in this year's QS US University Rankings of U.S. universities.
STONY BROOK, NY—Stony Brook University's ranking in a QS U.S. University 2021 ranking has gone up. The research firm looks at metrics like diversity, employability and learning experience. Stony Brook ranked 39th, an improvement from 45th in 2020.
Long Island's SUNY research university received a fifth-place standing among all New York State colleges and universities, and number one public university in the state.
Stony Brook's top-40 designation came partly from a strong showing on the ranking's diversity and internationalisation index—the university ranked sixth in that category. The diversity score reflects: gender pay gap, faculty gender diversity, ratio of undergraduates receiving Pell grants, students’ ethnicity, number of Fulbright students and ratio of international students.
