The Stony Brook track and field teams opened their outdoor season by defeating Columbia, La Salle and Providence University teams, at last Thursday's Quad Meet.

The field competitions included the javelin, discus, shot put, high jump and long jump events.
Running events consisted of the 100m, 4x100m relay, 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles, 600m, 4x800m relay, 1500m, 2000m steeplechase and 3000m races.
