STONY BROOK, NY — The cancellation of spring break 2021 is among several health and safety measures being taken by Stony Brook University, the school announced.
Classes began on Feb. 1 and will finish on May 17 — earlier than usual — to accommodate for the elimination of spring break.
All SUNY schools canceled spring break this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Newsday reported. SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras announced the protocol as a means to allow students to safely attend in-person classes during the semester.
