Summer Reading at Emma Clark Library
Some exciting changes for the 2015 Summer Reading!

There are some exciting changes for the 2015 Children’s Summer Reading Program (SRP) at Emma Clark Library! For the first time this year, parents may register their children online, making it easier to get started. Click here to register.
In-person registration is still an option for those who prefer the “old-fashioned” way.
Starting Monday, June 22, parents may pick up their child’s book bag and goodies. The following Monday, June 29, prizes will be awarded to kids who read at least one book each week. There will be weekly prizes for each child.

Ages 3 Years - Grade 3
Do you have what it takes to be a Superhero? Prove it! Sign up for one of the many time slots to test your “super” skills at our training facility here at Emma Clark. Smash through brick walls, crawl under a web and many other activities and earn your Super Hero certificate. Wear your superhero costume or come as your mild-mannered self. To register, you have to either come into the Children’s Department or call us from your bat-phone or any other phone you may have. Please bring a towel, water & sunscreen. Call or register in-person starting Friday, June 19.
Superhero Academy with David Engel, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
All ages. Fun for the whole family!
Direct from Hall of Justice Headquarters to our library, Sgt. Major MAJOR offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn to harness the powers of the superheroes! The proud Sgt. MAJOR challenges the reflexes, eyesight, strength and noodles of the most valiant Do-Gooders in the audience. This “action-clown” show features on-your-feet participation, nonsensical competitions and a laugh-riot of epic proportions as kids become empowered to fight crime across the universe. No registration required.
SRP concludes with our finale event, The Magic of Reading, fun for the whole family on the library lawn on Thursday, August 6 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Magician Robert McEntee will perform many magical tricks, including some levitation and illusion tricks and maybe even some fire eating. No registration is required. The only prerequisite is that everyone has read at least 7 books this summer.
All events will be held outdoors on the library lawn. In case of inclement weather, they will be inside the library.
“We’re thrilled about the new online sign-up for this summer’s Reading Club, it will make it more convenient for the families of the community, “ says Brian Debus, Head Children’s Department Librarian. We’re also happy to have a Summer Reading Club Kick-Off that will get everybody excited about visiting the Library this summer.”
Fly your super hero to the library and get reading this Summer!
