Ward Melville High Celebrates Homecoming with Football and Festivities

Three Village community members came together on Sep. 26 to celebrate and showcase their Patriot Pride during homecoming at Ward Melville High School. Festivities included athletic events, a bonfire, a carnival and Patriots football game.

On Friday night students participated in the annual Battle of the Classes, which challenged each grade level to compete in a series of fun athletic events before before gathering for the bonfire. The following afternoon, attendees enjoyed the homecoming carnival before stepping into the stadium to cheer on the Patriots football team as they took on the undefeated Northport High School Tigers.

Although it wasn’t a win for the Patriots, the spirit of the day was maintained at an all time high with the help of the district’s varsity, junior varsity and junior high school cheerleaders as well as the high school’s talented marching band.
