Ward Melville High School Wins National Good Citizen Award
Katherine Tian earned a perfect score of 100 and won the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. Congratulations!

SETAUKET, NY — Katherine Tian, a student at Ward Melville High School, was named the national winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, the Three Village Central School District announced. She earned a perfect score of 100.
This award was created in 1934 to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. It was established to recognize and reward those who are dependable and provide service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
Katherine was chosen as the $1,000 scholarship winner to represent the local Anna Smith Strong Chapter based in Setauket. She then went on to be chosen to represent the Long Island districts, won the state level and then advanced to the national level.

Katherine unanimously was the top choice of all the national judges, who all issued her a perfect score. She will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship, and her achievements will be highlighted as the National Daughters of the American Revolution Congress.
