Bloomingdale Library On The UWS Reopening After 2 Year Closure
Even before the pandemic shut the city down, the Bloomingdale Library was closed for renovations. It's reopening on July 6.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Bloomingdale Library at 150 West 100th Street closed in February 2019 for a $3 million improvement project. At the time, the Upper West Side New York Public Library branch expected to reopen in the summer of 2020, but the pandemic pushed those plans back.
Now, the Bloomingdale Library is one of seven Manhattan branches that will reopen on July 6 with close to full service.
The city's three public library systems—The New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library and Queens Public Library — aim to restore most of their pre-pandemic services in July. Most libraries have been operating with grab-and-go services since starting to reopen last summer.

The New York Public Library (NYPL), which includes the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island locations, will reopen with unlimited browsing, desktop computer use, laptop loan, and general library use.
In-person public programs and classes will also begin again in July, but the date is not yet specified.
