Celebrity Chef Aarti Sequeira Visits Upper West Side Seniors

The Food Network's Chef Aarti Sequeria Shares a Special Valentine's Day Meal With The Residents of The New Jewish Home's Manhattan Campus

Nearly 100 Upper West Side seniors and their families had a special pre-Valentine’s Day treat when The Food Network star Chef Aarti Sequeira made a special appearance at The New Jewish Home’s Manhattan skilled nursing facility to demonstrate how to make a healthy, gourmet meal on Tuesday, February 12.

A winner of season 6 The Food Network’s Food Network Star, Chef Aarti showed audience members how to prepare one of her favorite meals, Meatballs in a Light Curry Sauce. Throughout her presentation, the chef spoke about Indian cuisine and the health benefits of cooking with different spices.

After her presentation, Chef Aarti joined the residents for a Valentine’s Day party where her recipes were prepared and served by staff of The New Jewish Home. In addition to Chef Aarti’s main dish of Meatballs in a Light Curry Sauce, residents also dined on Jeweled Rice Pilaf, a side salad and a Mango Cake dessert.
