The reopening announcement comes after a notice filed with the state on Sept. 23 by owner Dean Poll stated that the business will remain closed for the foreseeable future, which forced the permanent layoffs of 163 employees at the lakeside restaurant.
At the time, Poll hoped to reopen the restaurant by next April, according to THE CITY, which first reported on the closure.
The Loeb Boathouse first opened in 1954, named in honor of the investment banker Carl M. Loeb and his wife Adeline, who helped fund its construction. The restaurant, which bills itself as the only lakeside event space in Manhattan, has been a popular venue for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs, and has been featured in numerous films.
