Cuomo Announces New Rapid COVID-19 Testing Site On The UWS

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced during a press conference Friday a new rapid COVID-19 testing site opening on the Upper West Side.

The new UWS rapid testing location is one of the 11 sites that Cuomo announced across New York City.

The Upper West Side site is within a CVS at 2182 Broadway, between West 77th and West 78th Streets.

The tests will return results within 30 minutes and cost $30. It is a more affordable option than many of the non-city-funded rapid testing locations in Manhattan.

However, to be eligible for a test at the new site, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You're not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • You haven't been exposed to a person with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19
  • You haven't received a positive test in the past 10 days
  • You aren't currently obligated to quarantine

You also have to make an appointment to get tested at one of the new sites, which you can do here.

The new Upper West Side testing site is part of the governor's NY Forward Rapid Test Program, which is a "public-private partnership designed to expand rapid testing sites across New York State with the goal of building consumer confidence."
