Grand Bazaar, Popular UWS Flea Market, Reopening This Weekend

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — In another smile-inducing sign of returning normalcy on the Upper West Side, the iconic Grand Bazaar NYC flea market will reopen this weekend in its usual venue within the playground at 100 West 77th Street.

The flea market, which usually has close to 160 vendors selling everything from art to food to crafts to fashion, was forced to close in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the Grand Bazaar NYC will reopen on Sunday with a few slight changes.

The flea market will reopen with around 80 booths, and everyone over the age of two has to wear a mask when not in designated eating areas.

Moving forward, the flea market will be open every Sunday from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Additionally, the profits made at the Grand Bazaar market will go towards benefitting four public schools by funding books, supplies, teaching assistants, and extracurricular programs.

The market first opened more than 40 years ago on the Upper West Side.
