The Central Park Conservancy recently put together a list of the most Instagrammable winter locations within the park. Take a look.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — It is never the wrong season to take pictures in the magnificence of Central Park, but there might be no better season for park photos than winter.

With all the possible photo backgrounds in the famous Manhattan park, it's not always the easiest to pick out that perfect spot.

The Central Park Conservancy recently released its list of the "Most Instagrammable Wintertime Spots" in the park.

  • The Conservancy's first recommendation is to strike a pose with the collection of bronze sculptures within the park — "especially when it's snowing." The Alice in Wonderland and Balto sculptures are two of the most popular, but many characters stand throughout the park.

"Bring The Drama"

  • There are few more famous Central Park spots than the Mall walkway, which is particularly photogenic caked in snow. It is the only intentionally straight walkway in the park, and "lends itself to a dramatic wide shot of the entire area," according to the Conservancy.

"Snap An Angelic Image"

  • If you make your way to the northern end of the Mall, you will reach the Bethesda Terrace overlooking the lake. The popular spot is considered the heart of the park and gives you a sweeping viewpoint into each corner of the park.

"Capture The View From Inside A Snow Globe"

  • The Arthur Ross Pinetum isn't as popular a Central Park location as the spots listed above, but it's a "hidden gem in plain sight," according to the Conservancy. The area holds over 17 different types of pine trees that give off a snow globe effect if snowflakes are falling from the sky.

"Take Advantage Of The Leaf-Free View"

  • The winter allows for the clearest view of the Obelisk (or Cleopatra's Needle) that stands tall between the Great Lawn and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Dating to about 1450 B.C., it is the oldest human-made object in Central Park.

"Enjoy A Little Sanctuary"

  • The Hallett Nature Sanctuary, bordered by the Pond at the southeast corner of Central Park, is "particularly peaceful in the winter," according to the Conservancy. It's one of Central Park's three woodland landscapes and allows you to overlook the park with the Manhattan skyline in the background.

The Conservancy also recommends any of the 31 arches and bridges within the park for a winter photoshoot.
