Hit TV Show 'Billions' To Shoot On The UWS: What To Know

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Upper West Siders should keep an eye out for Bobby Axelrod as the hit SHOWTIME series "Billions" is set to shoot at the end of May and into June. The show about the ongoing battle between U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoads (Paul Giamatti) and hedge fund CEO Axe (Damian Lewis) has won multiple Emmy's and Golden Globes over its first five seasons.

In the past few days, signs posted throughout Waterline Square indicate that filming will go on between 59th Street and 63rd Street from West End Avenue to 12th Avenue.

ILoveTheUpperWestSide was the first to report on "Billions" coming to the neighborhood for filming.

The shooting equipment is expected to get set up on May 31, and the filming will go from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 1. The poster also says residents can request a black-out curtain for anyone that wants to block out the stage lights.

It appears that parking will be closed off at the following locations:

• The west side of Freedom Place between West 60th and 64th Streets
• The west side of West End Avenue between West 59th and 61st Streets
• The north side of West 59th Street between West End/11th and 12th Avenues
• The south side of West 60th Street between West End Avenue and Freedom Place
• The north side of West 61st Street between West End Avenue and Freedom Place
• The south side of West 63rd Street between West End Avenue and Freedom Place

"Billions" has a well-documented history of filming on the Upper West Side, most recently in February 2020 in between 75th and 80th Streets.

The most recognizable of those Upper West Side scenes were shot in the iconic Gray's Papaya hot dog shop at 2090 Broadway.
