Live Music Series Coming To New Upper West Side Park

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Upper West Siders missing live music during the coronavirus pandemic are in luck. There is a new outdoor concert series coming to the neighborhood.

Starting Sept. 16, live music will occur every other Wednesday through the end of October at the Waterline Square public park on 10 Riverside Boulevard, near W. 60th Street.

The music series will kick off with jamming jazz tunes from saxophonist and composer Paul Jones, grammy-nominated organist Pat Bianchi, and drummer Chris Smith.

The Waterline Square Music In The Park Series performances will all be free of charge and start between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Here's a schedule for the performances:

• Sept. 16, 6:30 p.m. — The Paul Jones Jazz Trio
• Sept. 30, 6 p.m. — "An Evening of Solo Bach," the award-winning violinist Anthony Bracewell will join cello player Luke Krafka in a night of Bach's greatest pieces.
• Oct. 14, 5:30 p.m. — "Romantic String Trios," the violinist Ravenna Lipchik will team up with Drew Ricciardi on the viola and Luke Krafka on the cello in a journey around the world with string trio performances from Mexican composer Manuel Ponce, German composer Ludwig van Beethoven, and Hungarian composer Ernst von Dohnanyi.
• Oct. 28, 5:30 p.m. — BlueGrass Trios

The Waterline Square park is a new 2.6-acre space on the Upper West Side that features sculpture fountains, lawns, walkways, and a fully equipped children's playground.
