Man Hit, Dragged, And Killed By Car On The Upper West Side: NYPD
A man was fatally struck by a car on Sunday near Central Park West and 62nd Street after laying down in the middle of the street, NYPD said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was fatally struck by a car on Sunday night after he lay down around 11:55 p.m. in the middle of a road near Central Park West between West 62nd and West 63rd Streets, according to police.
A 28-year-old was driving northbound along Central Park West, when a man walked into the middle of the roadway and lay down in the left lane, police said.
The driver of the car did not immediately realize he had hit a person, and subsequently dragged the body northbound along the pavement, according to police. The 28-year-old eventually realized and returned to the scene to talk with police, said the NYPD.

The man who was hit was pronounced dead on the street, police said.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
