Man Killed By Train At Columbus Circle Station: NYPD

A man died Thursday morning after getting hit by an oncoming D train at Columbus Circle, according to police.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man died on the Upper West Side Thursday morning after he was hit by a train at the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station, according to police.

The fatal action took place around 6:40 a.m., when the man jumped in front of a northbound D train within the UWS station, a police spokesperson told Patch.

Police specified to Patch that the man jumped and was not pushed into the oncoming train.

Due to the medical and police response to the incident, there was no A or D train express service until 7:40 a.m., at which point it restarted with delays, according to the MTA.
