Mayoral Candidate Hosts Bagel Walk Through Iconic UWS Joints

Mayoral candidate Ray McGuire was on the Upper West Side Monday to visit local businesses, including five popular bagel joints.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — If there was one way to the heart of Upper West Side voters — it might be through a perfectly toasted bagel — and that's exactly what mayoral candidate Ray McGuire went for on Monday.

McGuire, the former Wall Street executive, hosted an hour-long bagel walk at 2:30 p.m. through the Upper West Side.

He stopped at five neighborhood bagel, cream cheese, and butter havens:

McGuire has told other publications that his go-to order is a Zucker's everything bagel with light cream cheese and lox.

While the bagel walk is the undoubted highlight of his Upper West Side journey, he also visited the following neighborhood businesses.

While McGuire was just seventh in a recent poll from NY1, he has dominated the Upper West Side fundraising scene. He has raised $1,916,529 from residents in the 10023, 10024, and 10025 ZIP codes as of May 17 — Comptroller Scott Stringer is a distant second at $350,518.

McGuire's fundraising trick just might be the bagel love.
