Calaveras Corner is taking over the space formerly home to The Ellington, which closed in July 2020. Owners of the popular bar and restaurant said the space was too small to properly social distance, but are reopening in 2021 at a new location at 2475 Broadway.
The restaurant will deploy a large blue tent to give cover to the outdoor diners, and it is also installing an air ventilation system within the establishment.

Owners of Calaveras Corner are not new to the Upper West Side neighborhood, as they opened a Mexican restaurant in January called The Calaveras NYC on Columbus Avenue, between West 106th and 107th Streets.
"We love the community," Natalie Soto, one of the owners of Calaveras Corner and a resident of the Upper West Side, told Patch.
