Upper West Side ZIP Codes All Under 3 Percent COVID-19 Rate: Data

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Since the city began tracking COVID-19 rates by ZIP code, the Upper West Side has consistently registered near the very lowest seven-day positive rates in the five boroughs.

While COVID-19 positive rates have been trending downwards both across the city and state, New York City's seven-day average positivity as of Sunday was still 7.31 percent.

Here's how that figure compares to the most recent seven-day positivity averages on the Upper West Side's three largest ZIP codes.

• 10025: 2.64 percent positive, 5,043 people tested, 133 new positives
• 10024: 2.32 percent positive, 2,414 people tested, 56 new positives
• 10023: 2.72 percent positive, 2,716 people tested, 74 new positives

Overall, the Upper West Side's most recent seven-day COVID-19 positive average is 2.56 percent, which is 4.75 percent less than the citywide average.

With that being said, Manhattan does have the lowest positive rates of the five boroughs. However, there are neighborhoods in the borough higher than the citywide average, including two ZIP codes in Washington Heights and Inwood, and one in Chinatown.

The UWS is also one of the few places in the city with a lower seven-day COVID-19 positive rate than in New York State, which was 2.99 percent as of Sunday. It's the first time that figure has dropped under 3 percent since late November.
