UWS Taco Shack Is Among NYC's 'Most Anticipated Restaurants'

A Caribbean-Cape Cod seafood joint was named on a list of Eater NY's "most anticipated restaurants" set to open in the spring.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A new taco restaurant heading to the Upper West Side this spring is among the "most anticipated restaurants" set to open across New York City in 2021, according to Eater NY.

Food experts from the publication put together a list of the 10 most exciting restaurant openings for winter and spring of this year across the five boroughs.

Among them is Lolo's Taco Shack, a Caribbean-Cape Cod seafood spot from restaurateur Leticia Skai Young-Mohan and chef Raymond Mohand. They are the wife and husband duo behind Harlem's Lolo's Spicy Crab.

"Spring is peak crawfish season for the city's many seafood boileries, but the owners of Lolo's Seafood Shack in Harlem are setting their sights on Mexican and Central American fare at a new restaurant," editors of Eater NY wrote. "For their sophomore project, the couple is focusing on street food from Belize, including garnaches and plantain-wrapped tamales, along with a menu of tacos whose fillings nod to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico."

The taco shack is set to open in April of 2021 at 2799 Broadway, at West 108th Street.
