UWS ZIP Code Has 4th-Lowest Coronavirus Rate In New York City

Only three ZIP codes among the five New York City boroughs have a lower coronavirus rate than an area on the UWS, according to city data.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — While coronavirus rates are rising across New York City, the positivity rate in one Upper West Side ZIP code is the fourth lowest in all five boroughs.

The data, which shows COVID-19 testing results for every New York City ZIP code between Dec. 1 and Dec. 7, shows that the positivity rates in all four ZIP codes that make up the Upper West Side are among the lowest in the city.

Specifically, the 10024 ZIP code has a positivity rate of 1.36 percent, making it the fourth-lowest rate in New York City. Only two small ZIP codes in Lower Manhattan and one Upper East Side ZIP code have lower rates.
