Man Dies From Injuries After Revel Moped Crash In Wash Heights
The 30-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a Revel crash before the service shut down in NYC.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A 30-year-old man has died after crashing a Revel scooter into a pole in Washington Heights on July 25, according to police.
He is the third person to die in a Revel scooter-related crash in New York City, succumbing to his injuries on Aug. 4.
The crash happened in the area of 96 Wadsworth Terrace in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood.

Police said Friday the man was driving the Revel scooter with a passenger on the back of the vehicle when he "failed to properly navigate the roadway and struck a pole at the location."
The driver had head trauma and the 32-year-old male passenger had a left ankle injury.

Emergency service transported both men to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where the 30-year-old man was pronounced dead on Aug. 4. The 32-year-old passenger was treated in stable condition and released.
The 30-year-old man who died in the crash was identified as Bronx resident Francis Nunez.
The newly reported death means Revel shut down its New York City scooter service on July 28 after not two, but three fatal crashes in 10 days.
"New York riders - starting today, NYC service will be shut down until further notice," the company tweeted at the time. "We're reviewing and strengthening our rider accountability and safety measures and communicating with city officials, and we look forward to serving you again in the near future."
