5 Injured In Early Morning Inwood Apartment Building Blaze: FDNY
Dozens of firefighters battled flames at 5 Seaman Avenue in Inwood on Friday morning, according to the FDNY.

INWOOD, NY — A fire within an Inwood apartment building on Friday morning left five people with injuries and took sixty firefighters to put out, according to the FDNY.
Around 9 a.m., firefighters responded to a blaze on the fourth floor of a six-story building at 5 Seaman Avenue, according to an FDNY spokesperson. It took over an hour for the firefighters to extinguish the flames, according to the spokesperson.

Four firefighters and one resident were injured in the flames, and all but one of them were transported to NY Presbyterian-Allen Hospital, according to the FDNY. One of the five was treated for their injuries at the scene, but refused to be taken to the hospital, the spokesperson added.
The flames in Inwood ignited only a matter of hours after the neighborhood saw serious flooding because of a rainstorm Thursday afternoon.
