Artist Leads Photography Walking Tour Through Washington Heights
The walk will start at Word Up: Community Bookstore.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NEW YORK — An artist will be taking photographers on a walking tour of Washington Heights.
Emmanuel Abreu will meet shutterbugs at Word Up: Community Bookshop, at 2113 Amsterdam Avenue, and take them on a tour of photogenic sites in neighborhood as well as parts of The Bronx. The event will take place between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on July 9.
It will wind over University Heights Bridge to The Bronx, where photographers will walk to Yankees Stadium, Abreu told Patch. The tour will head back in to Manhattan via the Maccombs Bridge and end at the Fort Washington Park, where participants will get a chance to take photographs under the bridge. The route may be altered due to time constraints.

The tour welcomes artists from all levels. Abreu aims to create a friendly environment where artists can network, exchange ideas and learn from each other.
Abreu creates his artwork by "watching and observing people and sceneries change and become beautiful subjects to photograph." He says his most important achievement was his project "Observing The Heights," which required him to capture images of every intersection in Washington Heights and Inwood.
