Bastille Day Celebrations Mark French Independence At The Cloisters
The Cloisters is hosting a concert and a French Revolution talk.

WASHINGTON HEIGHT, NEW YORK — Bastille Day is coming to the Cloisters with two events celebrating French independence.
The museum will host a concert on July 14 starring soprano Lucy Dhegrae, with Kamala Sankaram accompanying her on the accordion.
The pay-what-you-want performance will be held between 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. in the Trie Cloister. Wine will be available for purchase.

On July 15th, The Cloisters will have two free talks concerning the French Revolution and American Independence. The first will be held at 12 p.m. and the second at 2 p.m.
The talks will explore the effects of the French Revolution on religious art and architecture, a spokesman for The Met told Patch. The part of the talk concerning American Independence will discuss the importance of Fort Tryon and Fort Washington.
