WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The Upper Manhattan organization Community League of the Heights (CLOTH) is teaming up with the local WORD UP: Community Bookshop/Libreria Communitaria to host a conversation with Angela Abreu, the founder of the Dominican Writers Association.

The Dominican Writers Association was founded by Abreu in Washington Heights and serves as a platform dedicated to supporting and promoting the works by creative writers of Dominican descent.

Outside of holding prior events at the WORD UP book store, the Dominican Writers Association has also held talks, workshops, and readings at other Washington Heights and Inwood locations. Such as the Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center, Pop & Pour, Miss Rizos Salon, and other neighborhood spots.
