D Trains Stopped After Person Hit By Train In The Bronx: MTA

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — D trains stopped running between Washington Heights and the Bronx on Tuesday afternoon after someone was hit by a train at 167th Street, the MTA said.

The person was hit at 167th Street station around 12:42 p.m., according to MTA tweets. Emergency responders and the NYPD were at the station helping the person minutes later, the tweets said.

Transit officials first had southbound B and D trains run on the express track from Tremont Avenue in the Bronx to 155th Street station in Washington Heights, but soon said that no D trains would be running between 145th Street and 205th Street.

The trains were back up and running a little before 2 p.m.

Straphangers should expect delays in all B and D train service as the trains resume, the MTA said.
