Free English, Spanish Outdoor Film Series Returns To Inwood
Eleven films will be screened at Gaelic Field in Inwood Hill Park from June 3 through August 26.
INWOOD, NY — New York City only free outdoor film screening series for both English and Spanish speakers will return to Inwood this summer for its third year, organizers announced this week.
Inwood Art Works will host eleven free screenings at Inwood Hill Park every Monday between June 3 and August 26 as part of its Film Works Alfresco! series, the nonprofit said in a press release. Some films included in this year's series are the documentary "Won't You Be My Neighbhor?" the box-office hit "Crazy Rich Asians" and animated Spanish-language comedy "El Libro de la Vida."
Films will be screened at Gaelic Field, which is located near park entrances at Isham Street and Seaman Avenue and at Indian Road and West 218th Street, organizers said. There is no admission fee and screenings will begin when the sun begins to set.

The film series is funded by the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and the city Department of Small Business Services through its Neighborhood 360 grant program, organizers said.
"Cultural and artistic events breathe life into our public spaces and neighborhoods," Brewer said in a statement. "I'm thrilled that Film Works Alfresco will be in Inwood Hill Park this summer, and commend Inwood Art Works for its efforts to bring culturally relevant arts programming into this community."

- Monday, June 3: Musical comedy "42nd Street" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, June 10: Animated comedy "El Libro de la Vida (The Book of Life)" in Spanish with English subtitles.
- Monday, June 17: Documentary "Won’t you be my Neighbor?" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, June 24: Drama/adventure "La Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon)" in Spanish with English subtitles.
- Monday, July 1: Short film collection with films in both English and Spanish.
- Monday, July 8: Documentary "Landfillharmonic" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, July 15: Animated comedy "Isle of Dogs" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, July 22: Comedy/drama "Crazy Rich Asians" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, July 29: Animated comedy "Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos (Little Rooster's Egg-cellent Adventure)" in Spanish with English subtitles.
- Monday, August 5: Comedy/sports "A League of their Own" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, August 12: Animated action/adventure "Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse" in English with Spanish subtitles.
- Monday, August 19: Alternate screening date in case of rescheduling.
