WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A Manhattan elected official is teaming up with a Washington Heights bookstore to help residents get COVID-19 tests.

Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer is partnering with the Word Up: Community Bookshop Liberia Communitaria to open a COVID-19 self-testing pop-up site on Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m.

The pop-up test site will get set up in front of the bookstore at 2113 Amsterdam Avenue, near West 165th Street.

Brewer's staff will supply a self-swab kit, collect the swabs at the location, package them, and send them to a local lab — results will then be emailed to you approximately 48 hours later.

The only requirement is an email address for people 18 years and older, and children age four to 18 must come with a parent or guardian.
