Here's How Many Upper Manhattan Residents Have Been Vaccinated

The city released data Tuesday on the number of people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine by ZIP Code.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — The four ZIP codes that form Washington Heights and Inwood have some of the highest COVID-19 positive rates in Manhattan, but the neighborhood's vaccination rates don't correspond.

A newly released set of data by the city on Tuesday shows the percentage of residents in each New York City ZIP code that have already gotten at least one of the vaccination shots.

Here's the information for the four ZIP codes that make up Upper Manhattan.

Inwood and Washington Heights are in the middle of the pack of Manhattan neighborhoods for the highest amount of residents vaccinated against COVID-19. Most of Harlem and areas of Lower Manhattan have lesser rates of adults who have gotten the shot.

However, the Upper West Side and Upper East Side are far ahead of Upper Manhattan in the vaccination push.

The Upper East Side ZIP code 10021 had the highest fully vaccinated rate in the borough at 16 percent. All of the ZIP codes on the UWS and UES have vaccination rates of at least 9 percent, most of which are over 10 percent.

The highest Manhattan COVID-19 infection rates by ZIP codes do not correspond with the highest vaccination rates. The Upper West Side and Upper East Side ZIP codes all have seven-day positive rates of under 3 percent, according to the latest data from the city.

Whereas COVID-19 positive rates in many Harlem and Washington Heights ZIP codes are currently over 7 percent, but two-shot vaccination rates sit between 4 and 6 percent.
