Uptown Summer Jazz Series Kicks Off In Washington Heights

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — While live music has been put on hold in New York City due to the coronavirus pandemic; the Uptown Summer Jazz Series is making its virtual debut this Saturday in Washington Heights.

You can enjoy the jazzy tunes of Annette Aguilar's String Beans from the comfort of your own home, or outside the Hilltop Park Ale House, where the virtual performance will be livestreamed on its in-house TVs.

The Washington Heights restaurant is located at 3821 Broadway on 159th Street.

You can find Saturday's livestream on Hilltop Ale House's Facebook.

The tavern also offers take out and delivery for customers that want to order in. Additionally, you can get free delivery for orders over $15 when you call the restaurant directly at 646-438-9293. Hilltop's dinner menu ranges from fish tacos to buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches to fire-roasted tomato soup, and a wide variety of cocktail options.

The summer jazz series, which will run every Saturday through August 22, is organized by the Community League of Heights (CLOTH) and Jazz WaHI Inc.

CLOTH is a "community development corporation dedicated to building equitable, prosperous and healthy northern Manhattan neighborhoods," according to its Facebook page.

Jazz WaHI is a non-profit corporation that promotes jazz performance and music education in Washington Heights.
