Man Killed After Getting Hit By Vehicle On Wash Heights Highway
Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle who fatally struck a man Wednesday walking on the Henry Hudson Parkway at West 163rd Street.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 34-year-old man early Wednesday morning on the northbound side of the Henry Hudson Parkway — near West 163rd Street.
NYPD responded to a call of a person possibly struck by a vehicle at the location at 1:43 a.m. Wednesday morning, officers arrived to find a 34-year-old man lying in the roadway unconscious and unresponsive with head and body trauma, according to police.
The man was taken to a hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.

A preliminary investigation found that the man was walking in the area when he was struck and killed by the vehicle traveling north. NYPD did not specify if the 34-year-old was walking on the actual highway or in an area next to the roadway.
Police also did not say what type of vehicle hit him.
