Man Lying On Henry Hudson Parkway In Wash Heights Killed: NYPD

A man inexplicably laid down on the Henry Hudson Parkway Thursday night, before he was killed by a passing car, according to police.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Police are looking for the driver involved in a strange and tragic hit-and-run that took place in Washington Heights on Thursday.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Reilyn Vinas walked onto the Henry Hudson Parkway near West 181st Street and laid down, police said.

A passing car ran him over shortly after and killed the 27-year-old. The driver never stopped, according to police.

Police found the man's body sprawled out on the roadway, unconscious and unresponsive. Vinas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that Vinas was a Harlem resident.

No arrests had been made as of Friday, and the investigation into the driver of the car remains ongoing.
