A New 'In The Heights' Trailer Just Came Out: Watch It Here
The Washington Heights-based film had a new trailer come out on Sunday, and it's already receiving rave reviews online.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The new "In The Heights" movie trailer wastes no time situating you directly in Upper Manhattan. The two-minute-thirty-second clip released on Sunday starts with an overhead shot of the Washington Heights skyline, before fitting in references to the "screeching" 1-train and Bennett Park within the first 30 seconds.
The actual film is set to get released on June 18, 2021, in the United States, after it was pushed back from last summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Here's the new trailer for the upcoming film version of Lin Manuel-Miranda's 2008 Broadway show.

Anthony Ramos will play the lead character in the upcoming film; he's appeared in the Broadway production of "In The Heights" before, and also was in "A Star Is Born" and the original "Hamilton" cast alongside Miranda.
In a virtual cast event on Saturday, Ramos spoke about the movie's importance to the Latino community.

"I've never seen anything where there's 75 Latinos in the middle of the street dancing and singing about pride and where they come from," Ramos said during the virtual event. "I get emotional when I'm thinking about this movie and what it means to me and the culture."
Miranda, who will be in the film as a smaller character this time around, referenced a Washington Heights landmark in his comments during the event.
"To image 500 people dancing to your music in the middle of Highbridge Park ... It's a dream come true," Miranda said.
Social Media Reaction
The new trailer has already gotten a whole lot of love on social media.
"The new In The Heights trailer just gave me actual goosebumps," one Twitter user said. "I was so worried when they said they were making this movie but my god it looks so good."
"Full out crying. This is everything. Every breath of representation. Every breath of integrity. even breath of celebration of our culture. This is everything," actor Javier Munoz wrote on Twitter about the new trailer.
A different person on Twitter said the new trailer made her jaw drop.
"I just saw a trailer for In The Heights and I got chills, then my eyes teared up, then I noticed my jaw had dropped. I can't want to watch!"
